And I’m a jerk because I can’t help but get involved because I don’t like it when people walk all over me. Basically, every single conversation, even innocuous, in our group of friends turns into one big debate/argument. Only from him.

I’ll bring up something as innocent as "this funny thing happened today" and turn it into this big debate that you have to "win". He has even said "oh I love to debate" and got sucked in probably due to my own insecurity.

I hate it when people pretty much say I’m wrong and then walk all over me because they’re “right” and “won” the argument. As if he were telling me that I’m wrong about things in my company.

A company he has never worked for or seen. For example. I’ll say “so and so did this today because [this]" and he will argue that no, I am wrong. So-and-so (whom he has never met) did x for some other reason and I was wrong. as a friend I work at the company I know this coworker stops discussing my own experiences? I’m trying to keep things vague for doxing reasons, so I hope it makes sense. So I don’t like to just turn around and say “yeah, clearly,

I’m wrong about this person I know and you don’t know it, I’m so stupid.” I no longer want to be around this person. I am in this group of friends and I would like to stay there. But how do I stop myself from getting involved without just turning around and accepting whatever point of view I have? **TL;DR** dude keeps starting arguments all the time and I’m sick of it

It's a satisfactory record and umpteen of the pieces of assemblage in the accumulation are extremely insightful – especially ones who are search for it. It's compartment backhand, panoptic and not sham.
